Dr. Lissa Pinkney-Gayle is a registered dentist with the Dental Council of Jamaica. Her undergraduate degree (DDS) was obtained from the School of Dentistry, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. She completed her postgraduate qualification; MSc. Forensic Sciences, Pathology, Odontology (Distinction) at the UWI, Mona, Jamaica. Dr. Pinkney-Gayle is also the holder of a Diploma in Implantology obtained at the International Postgraduate Medical College. Dr. Pinkney-Gayle is a member of the Jamaica Dental Association, the American Association of Forensic Science and the Caribbean Association of Forensic Science.
As a Forensic Odontologist her specialties include; recognizing fraud and abuse, bite-mark registration and identification of unknown human remains. She is currently on the committee establishing the Forensic Anthropology / Odontology lab at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. She is a fellow with the International College of Dentists (ICD) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Pinkney-Gayle also recently in May 2018 received her Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (MFDRCSI). She currently works with the South East Regional Health Authority as a Dental Surgeon and is the Chief Executive Officer of Mt. Sinai Dental and Implant Centre. She is also a part-time lecturer in Forensic Odontology at the College of Oral Health Sciences, University of Technology, Jamaica.
